What is "Pinoy Blues?"

Blue is the ocean that surrounds the 7000 islands on the blue planet's largest life supporting coral reef.

Blue is the color tied to the word true, as in true blue.

Blue is in the Philippine and the American flags. When we left the Philippines.

We blew it a kiss and promised that wherever our life paths took us, we would always carry the deep soul level memories of our country and our kababayans with us and celebrate the joyful flight our wings have afforded us through art, spoken word, music and the many expressions of our feelings we have been blessed with.

Tutubi Energy

Tutubi Energy enables us to learn from our experiences; prayers; meditations; our introspective journeys, andidentify our personal truth - by doing so we claim our wings and are able to fly. Now is the time to experience your real power and step forth renewed.

The members of TUTUBI - Julian, Dennis and Eddie are the original members of the first all Filipino rock band in the DC area. They started playing at night clubs and events in 1967. The former members Epraim Parulan, drummer, is in LA playing with his band the Purple Gem; keyboard player Cirilo Desaliza is devoted to his church in Woodbridge, VA ; rhythm guitarist Freddie Lao passed away a few years ago in Canada;
brothers June and Raul Emralino also still live around the area.

Vic Cruz, drummer and Mar Mendoza, keyboards make up the rest of the new TUTUBI Blues Band.

The iridescent, shimmering colors of the Tutubi represent the symbolic rainbow of hope and a belief that the color vibrations we choose to surround us enhance and influence our understanding ona transcendent creative level our "real" life experiences.

The Blue Dragonfly

The Tutubi is the name for the dragonfly in the Philippines. Native Americans believe that the dragonfly animal totem represents transformation and change; a stripping away of all that no longer enhances your existence and thus allows you to fgrow wings and fly.

The members of TUTUBI Blues Band have grown their wings since they started performing in the Washington, DC area since 1967.
